Unlike Abbottabad or Mansehra, Peshawar has its own airport — Bacha Khan International Airport — located just inside the city, which makes the arrival transfer far shorter than most other cities we serve. Here’s exactly what to expect.
Distance and Journey Time
Bacha Khan International Airport is roughly 10–12 km from central Peshawar and most hotel districts, including University Town and Hayatabad. In normal traffic the transfer takes about 20–30 minutes. During Fajr or evening rush hour near the Ring Road, it can stretch to 40 minutes.
Security and Arrivals Process
Peshawar airport, given its proximity to the tribal districts and Khyber Pass, has additional security checkpoints compared to Islamabad or Lahore. Expect a vehicle screening checkpoint on the airport approach road — this is routine and your driver will have you clear it without issue since our vehicles and documentation are already registered with airport security.
Meet & Greet at Arrivals
- ✓ Your driver waits at the designated pickup point just outside the arrivals hall with a name board.
- ✓ Flight tracking means your pickup time adjusts automatically for delays.
- ✓ Luggage assistance from terminal to vehicle.
- ✓ Fixed, pre-agreed fare — no negotiation needed on arrival.
Where People Go From the Airport
Most airport pickups head straight to hotels in University Town, Hayatabad, or the Cantonment area for business travelers, or toward the Old City — Qissa Khwani Bazaar and the Peshawar Museum — for those here to sightsee. If you’re continuing onward the same day, our Peshawar fleet also handles direct routes to Islamabad (about 1.5–2 hours) and Swat (about 3.5–4 hours), both popular add-ons for travelers combining a Peshawar stop with the north.
💡 Old City Day Trip
If you have a layover of several hours before a connecting flight, ask about a short chauffeured city tour of Qissa Khwani Bazaar and the old walled city instead of waiting at the airport — your driver can have you back well before departure.
Tips for Travelers
- ✓ Carry your CNIC or passport visibly accessible — ID checks are more frequent in Peshawar than most other Pakistani cities.
- ✓ If you’re a foreign national, some areas outside the immediate city require prior notification to authorities — mention your itinerary when booking and we’ll advise.
- ✓ Currency exchange and SIM purchase counters are available inside the arrivals terminal.
